Bio: Elizabeth Seuling
Elizabeth Seuling (Secretary)
Elizabeth Seuling is the first executive director of the Lumos Foundation USA. She is responsible for building a US presence for JK Rowling’s UK-based charity, which aims to end the institutionalization of children worldwide by 2050. Before joining Lumos, Elizabeth worked with Human Rights Watch for 13 years, most recently as a managing director overseeing international teams responsible for strategy, leadership-level giving, and partnerships with foundations and trusts across ten countries. Prior to that, Elizabeth worked in Serbia with members of parliament on security-sector reform, and in India where she directed a service-learning program for American students. Elizabeth previously had a career in visual art in San Francisco and New York. She earned a bachelor’s degree in art history from Wesleyan University and a certificate in international affairs from New York University. She speaks some French, Hindi, and Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian. Elizabeth lives with her husband and son in New York City.
