Born in Iran during the Iran-Iraq war, Jasmin Ramsey is the deputy director of the Center for Human Rights in Iran. Drawing from her expertise in journalism, communications and Iranian contemporary politics, Jasmin creates and manages international advocacy campaigns, documents human rights violations, advocates for women’s and human rights through media interviews as well as public speaking engagements, and manages the center’s English-language content and social media channels.
Previously Jasmin worked as a Washington-based journalist and served as the deputy bureau chief of Inter Press Service, an international news wire service. At IPS she co-founded an award-winning U.S. foreign policy blog which became the first blog to receive the Arthur Ross Award for Distinguished Reporting and Analysis of Foreign Affairs from the American Academy of Diplomacy.
