Weekly Cartoon (20): Living Death
Living Death
Mohammad Nazari, a Kurdish political prisoner at Rajaee Shahr Prison in Karaj, sewed his lips shut and embarked on a hunger strike on August 28, 2012, to protest the judicial authorities’ disregard for his request for release.
“Considering Mohammad Nazari’s more than 19 years inside Mahabad, Orumiyeh, and Rajaee Shahr Prisons, he stated to judicial authorities that he is no longer able to endure this slow death, asking them to either release or execute him,” an informed source told the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran.
Nazari has been serving a life sentence since 1994 on charges of “membership in the Kurdistan Democratic Party.”
