Cartoon (109): Political Prisoners & Families Celebrate Nowruz, Not!
Dozens of political prisoners and prisoners of conscience were deprived of furlough, ordinarily extended to prisoners in Iran, during the Iranian New Year, Nowruz (March 20, April 1). More than 900 prisoners were pardoned by Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, none of whom were political prisoners. This is cartoonist Touka Neyestani’s take on this issue.
