Bio: Esfandiar Aban

Esfandiar Aban, Director of Research

Esfandiar Aban is the Director of Research at the Center for Human Rights in Iran (CHRI). Born and raised in Iran, Esfandiar earned his bachelor of fine arts in directing and cinema at Isfahan in 2006 and a master of fine arts in social documentary film from New York’s School of Visual Arts in 2019. A published writer who has served on international short story jury panels, Esfandiar has also produced and directed several documentaries about the human rights situation and other major societal issues in Iran and the United States.
